A place where visitors may commemorate those who lost their lives as a result of the Japanese colonial era and offer prayers for everlasting peace.

"Land of forgiveness" represents the dawn of the historical journey, we hope to let go of hatred, let go of prejudice, and we gather together. To network, socialize, and to expose the folk in Johor to the culture of Japan. There's a lake in the middle of the site surrounded by six tea houses of friendship which connect to the tower of peace. A temporary performance stage became the focus point at the center square.

“War didn't leave a woman's face. The 35 pillars represented 3,500 "silent proofs' ' which were locked in a drawer. Victims being trapped in a cage, shrouded in shadow for a lifetime. The space is divided into 4 parts, like a cross hopes to bring relief to the pain. Three cones like the silent trumpet, display the photo from different racial which are buried in history..."

While the memories of the war are fading away with its last survivors, let us take the journey down to the memory lane which holds the deepest memories while picking up the pieces, mourn, reconciliate, rebuild, forgive and eventually come together of what the future could be…
“DAIKENSHŌ - Museum of Japanese Colonial Memories'' & "YURUSHI NO JI - Land of Forgiveness" are envisioned historical journey through ambiences, atmospheres and sensory series of spaces for the purpose of raising awareness to younger generations to recognize and understand the ruthlessness and destruction of war, deeply experiencing the feelings of the victims. The journey continues with the feeling of humbleness, forgiveness, reconciles, cooperates and exchanging positive values as a token of shared.

The No 1 - No 6 Tea house of Friendship like the 6 Pillars of true friendship, represent The Forgiveness & Comprehension, The Encouragement & Celebration, The Trust & Truth, The Assertiveness & Maintenance, The Responsibility & Morality and The Gratitude & Appreciation.
It has a total of six buildings with a double floor of resting pavilion inspired by the Japanese traditional Chochin & Andon lantern. Each tea house is given a different theme to symbolize different meanings. It is designed for outdoor dining, resting and viewing platforms for people to sit down and to gather around.
Meanwhile, the materials selection for this structure also used the same materials of lantern - bamboo which was an eco-friendly materials and wood. The down floor tea house used the translucent acrylic shoji sheet to allow the natural lighting to come in.
